Thanks for the clarification PA Bear,
For years, people would dump on Microsoft, but I thought they were just complainers. Then I upgraded this (new at the time) computer to Win 8.0 and was appalled at how blatantly desktop users were ignored. It was made doubly bad when the outcry by desktop users resulted in only an almost insignificant change in 8.1. I was so disgusted I put this computer in the closet for years and continued with my older XP computer.
But then I heard that Win 10 was ok, so I hauled this computer out of the closet and made the upgrade from 8.1. It seems ok. But meanwhile I had heard that Outlook Express was abandoned, but I never had the time to sort it out, so I stayed with my XP.
XP is now too old, I have to upgrade. This computer with Win 10 is still too new to scrap (it has an i7 processor). I guess I'll have to research other email options for use on this Win 10 computer - any suggestions?

MS ignored desktop users (with 8.0 and 8.1), and then they ignored long time home email users (by scrapping OE). I'll be the first to complain now when MS is mentioned. I don't know what they are thinking.
